Willie's Portrait
I asked Hattie what she liked about making this painting of William. She said "I don't know." I insisted she say something about it. She said, "We should paint the diamonds pretty colors. Like lemon colors...wait, I mean, watermelon colors"
Up 'till this point, Hattie had made most of the marks you see in this photo (on both canvases).

Self Branding Unaware
She drew this mark today. I had to do a double-take when I noticed her name. I asked her if she wrote her name in the drawing. She said, "No." So I traced the name with a red pen. She still denied doing on purpose. I'm still in love with this mark. I could see this as a sort of signature/logo thing. See:

Hattie and Daddy Making Up a Song
Hattie made up all the lyrics. I was goofing around on the guitar and she jumped in with "It's dangerous sitting on a train." I don't know where she got that idea but I love it. So we went with it and recorded it.
